Small Business Minimum Wage Adjustment Program
Small businesses impacted by Manitoba’s minimum wage increase can apply for the Small Business Minimum Wage Adjustment Program.
Eligible employers can receive a subsidy up to $0.50/hour for each employee, up to a maximum of 20 employees.
Additional criteria include:
- Business and employees are located in Manitoba
- Business has no more than 100 employees
- Private, non-profit, or charity sector
- Employer has an active and valid Business Number, business bank account, and email address
- Employer is registered and in good standing with the Companies Office (not required for sole proprietors)
- Employees earned between $11.95 and $13.50 per hour as of Sept 30, 2022
- Employees now earn at least $13.50 per hour as of Oct 1, 2022
The Small Business Minimum Wage Adjustment Program is available for 6 months, from Oct 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023. The subsidy is paid up to a maximum of 80 hours (no overtime) per employee per 2-week pay period.
Eligible employers are also required to submit reports and provide documentation to receive this financial support.
